Our History

NET Ministries began in 1981 when an “experimental” travelling retreat team was sent out from the Catholic Youth Centre in St. Paul, Minnesota, U.S.A. After a favorable response, demand for the ministry increased and additional teams were assembled to meet these growing needs. This Catholic peer to peer ministry of Evangelization was introduced to other countries and presently, there are NET Ministries offices in Australia, Canada, the United States, Ireland, Scotland and Uganda.

In 2004, NET was introduced to Uganda in Masaka Diocese with a team of young people from Australia and New Zealand with Pastoral blessing of the Bishop of Masaka His Lordship Rt. Rev John Baptist Kaggwa. The first Director of NET Ministries Uganda was Fred Mawanda whose passion for youth Evangelisation made him go on a search for a successful Catholic youth Ministry that focuses on evangelization then he came across NET Ministries “I had a passion for young people and I had been searching all over the different parts of the world to look for a successful Catholic Ministry…….” For more information
